Case Study
In 2014, Linx partnered with Curt Burgener and his family in a recapitalization transaction designed to provide partial liquidity, upgrade the organization and support the Company’s growth. Transpro provides dry bulk transportation services in the Rocky Mountain region for customers in the construction, infrastructure and oilfield end markets. Linx identified key areas at Transpro in need of professionalization to take advantage of the favorable economic and demographic trends in its region. During the first year of the partnership, Linx and Transpro made critical personnel additions, including a CFO, Controller, HR Manager, DOT/Safety Manager, Driver Recruiter, Wyoming Sales and Terminal Manager. In addition, Transpro also made key changes to its operations by establishing a sales accountability program, installing electronic logs in all company trucks and implementing a repair and maintenance benchmarking system.
With personnel and operational upgrades in place, the Company is well-positioned to benefit from the continued economic growth throughout the Rocky Mountain region. Transpro continues to expand its fleet of tractors, pneumatic trailers and dump trailers to support new business opportunities and is also interested in acquiring complementary businesses for its dry bulk transportation platform.
