About The Company
Colonial Printing, L.L.C. provided full service lithographic printing, binding and converting services to the floor covering and textile industries. In August 2005, Colonial acquired Executive Printing, Inc., which was a single-source provider of marketing support services to Fortune 1000 and middle-market customers in the southeastern United States.
Case Study
In 2002, Linx acquired a majority stake in Colonial Printing from the Callahan family in order to enable the family to exit the day-to-day management of the Company. Linx hired a new CEO and CFO to enable this transition. Post-closing, Linx assisted the Company in investing in new press machinery to expand capacity. In 2005, Colonial acquired Executive Printing, and Linx combined the two companies into a new entity called The EPI Companies. After consolidating operations into one location, The EPI Companies brought together two regional market leaders servicing large fortune 500 customers.
In 2008, the Company was adversely affected by the shutdown of its largest customer as a result of the global economic recession, and the decision was made to close the Company.
